Kennedy Cheboror banned for two years by AIU

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has slapped Kenya’s long distance runner Kennedy Kiprop Cheboror with two years for Whereabouts Failures which is a violation of the World Anti-doping rules.

The 33-year-old who is a three times winner of the Gyeongju Marathon and has a life time best of 2:06.59, missed three Whereabouts Failures in the twelve-month period beginning on 6 November 2023, then 28 November 2023 and on 27 December 2023.

Cheboror has all his results disqualified since 27 December 2023, with all Consequences, including the forfeiture of any medals, titles, points, prize money and prizes.

He has also accepted the above Consequences for her Anti-Doping Rule Violation and has expressly waived his right to have those Consequences determined by the Disciplinary Tribunal at a hearing.
