Preparations are in full gear for the 15km Betika Kapsabet Road Race which is slated to take place this Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, in Kapsabet Town, Nandi County.
As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting sports and community engagement, Betika, through its local talent funding arm, Betika Na Community initiative, is spearheading this thrilling event, expected to draw both local talent and international competitors.
With over 700 athletes eagerly preparing to lace up their running shoes, the Kapsabet Marathon promises to be an electrifying showcase of speed, endurance, and determination. Participants will race across a challenging course, vying for top honors and a chance to etch their names in the annals of sporting glory.
Top male and female runners will each pocket Kshs 250,000, while second and third place finishers will claim Kshs 150,000 and Kshs 100,000 each respectively.
The orgainisers will also award the fourth and fifth place finishers with Kshs 50,000 and Kshs 40,000 respectively.
Further, the sixth through tenth place finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories will each receive KES 20,000, adding an extra layer of competition and excitement to the event.
“We are thrilled to support the Kapsabet Road Race, an event that celebrates the spirit of athleticism and camaraderie,” said the Managing Director Betika, Mutua Mutava. “Through Betika Na Community, we aim to foster a culture of sportsmanship and healthy competition while providing opportunities for athletes to showcase their talents on a global stage.”
The Kapsabet Road Race follows the resounding success of several Marathons successfully sponsored by the company. A12-kilometer Cross-Country run in Kericho, was held in October 2023, which attracted over 500 athletes.
As anticipation mounts and excitement reaches fever pitch, Betika invites sports enthusiasts and supporters alike to join us in Kapsabet Town for what promises to be an unforgettable day of athleticism, camaraderie, and community spirit.
