Former Amsterdam Marathon champion Angela Tanui, ran away with the women’s title at the tenth edition of the Napoli City Half Marathon held on Sunday (25) in Napoli, Italy.
The 31 year-old used her road running experience to control the entire race, cutting the tape first in a new personal best of 1:07.04 and was followed by Italy’s Sofiia Yaremchuk in a new personal best of 1:08.27 which also equals Nadia Ejjafini’s Italian half marathon record. Napoli City Half Marathon thus holds the Italian men’s and women’s records.
The 22 year-old Nancy Chepleting Meli sealed the podium three finishes in a time of 1:10.03.
