World Medalist Rebogo Suffers First Season Defeat to American Rookie

Double world medalist Letsile “School Boy” Tebogo of Bosawana suffered his first defeat of the season at the 2024 Kip Keino Classic, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Tebogo winner of silver in 100m and bronze in 200m at the World Athletics championships in Budapest, Hungary, last year was beaten into second place by American Courtney Lindsey a member of the US team for the World Relays scheduled for next month in Bahamas.

Courtney beat Tebogo on the finishing line in a time of 19.71 to record the 200m World Leading time as Tebogo settled for second place in 19.71 for his season’s best.

The European under 23 champion Jeff Reais was third in 20.54 while  the Africa Games silver Medalist Cameroonian Claude Emmanuel Itongue finished in fourth in a time of 20.71.
