It was never expected that the World Half Marathon record could ever be written soon but it turned out that almost 50 seconds were cut off from the previous record by the Tokyo Olympics 10,000m bronze medallist, Jacob Kiplimo, who became the first man to go under 57 minutes at the 34th edition of the Barcelona Half Marathon, on Sunday (16) in Barcelona, Spain.
The 24 year-old who is also the double World Cross Country Champion smashed the previous record of 57:31 set last year by Yomif Kejelcha from Ethiopia with new Half Marathon Record of 56:42.
