The reigning Romeo and Giulietta Half Marathon champion, Wisley Kipkemoi won the men’s title at the 9th edition of the Chemususu Dam Half marathon held on Saturday (16) Ravine, Baringo County.
The 27 year-old who came to this race with a personal best of 1:00.40 that he got early this year at the Yangzhou Jianzhen Half Marathon, where he finished fourth, overcame a strong deep elite field and a tough course as he cut the tape first in 1:03.83 and was followed in second place by Emmanuel Bett in 1:03.86 with James Kipkurui completing the podium three finishes in 1:03.87.
“The course was tough and very competitive but am happy that I carried the day today,” said Kipkemoi who was making his third appearance over the distance.

Emmanuel Kemboi and Kipkurui Korir finished in fourth and fifth place in a time of 1:03.94 and 1:04.15 respectively.
The race was also graced by the sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Davis Chirchir, the CS for Roads and Transport and Opiyo Wandayi CS for Energy.
