The government is studying the possibility of advancing the general elections. Among the dates being considered are November 29, although December 6 has also been proposed. The earliest date would be November 29 if the electoral process were activated now.
The problem for amateur athletics would arise if the elections were finally held on December 6, since that day the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich is scheduled, which will bring thousands of runners onto the streets of the city. The race is planned to start at 8:15 a.m. and finish around 2:00 p.m.
It would not be the first time that a general election coincides with a major race. In 2019, the election held on November 10 coincided with the Behobia-San Sebastián.
