
Kenya’s Vicoty Chepngeno won the Women’s race at the 33rd edition of the Beijing Marathon held on Sunday (03) in Beijing, China.
The 30 year-old who was running in her third marathon, came to this race with the fastest time on paper of 2:19.39 that she got in January at the Chevron Houston Marathon, where she won silver.
Chepngeno who quit the track three years ago, took the top honors in 2:21.56 and was followed in second place by Ethiopian Rahma Tusa who came home in over two minutes later.

Angela Tanui from Kenya, who was the fastest athlete on paper with a time of 2:17.57, and was also poised as the race favorite came home in third place in 2:25.41.

In Men’s category Ethiopia’s Lemi Berhanu Hayle took the honors in 2:0 9.16, just 14 seconds ahead of runner-up Bethwel Kibet Chumba of Kenya with Chen Tianyu from China finishing in third in 2:09.48.
