Valary Jemeli runs away with the Doha marathon title

Valary Jemeli wins the 2024 Doha marathon held on Sunday 18, 2024 in Doha, Qatar.

Former Frankfurt marathon champion Valary Aiyabei Jemeli ran away with the women title at the 11th edition of the Doha marathon held on Sunday (18) in Doha, Qatar.

The 32 year-old faced off a fierce compatriot, Joan Kipyatich in a closely contested race when she cut the tape first in 2:23.38 and was followed by Kipyatich who came home in second place seven seconds later with Ethiopia’s Rediet Daniel Molla closing the podium three finishes in 2:26.25.

Ethiopia’s Afera Godfay and Bahrain’s Rose Chelimo finished in fourth and fifth in respective time of 2:28.00 and 2:28.55.
