The 2017 Tokyo marathon champion, Sarah Chepchirchir has been slapped with eight years ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for the Presence/Use of a Prohibited Substance (Testosterone), which is a breach of the World Ant-doping Agency.
The 39 year-old was nabbed last year during the Chonburi marathon in Thailand, where she took the silver medal in a time of 2:35.43.
Sarah had been suspended for a period of four years, from February 6, 2019 to February 5, 2023, for anomalies noted in her biological passport.
This second ban takes effect from December 22, 2023 and ends in December 21, 2031.
