
Kenya’s Samuel Kiplimo Naibei took the top honors in the men’s race at the 40th edition of the Firenze Marathon held on Sunday (24) in Florence, Italy.
The 31 year-old took charge of the race from the 30km mark and ran lonely for the remaining 12km and cutting the tape in a time of 2:12.50.

Naibei was followed a distant later by Burundi’s Jean Marie Bukuru who came home almost four minutes later in 2:16.21.27 with his compatriot Hillary Biwott Chemwno closing the podium in 2:16.21.37.
Dickson Simba Nyakundi from Kenya and Hicham Boufars from Italy finished in fourth and fifth in respective time of 2:17.07 and 2:18.23.
