Rita Jeptoo announces her return to International scene with a win in Zaragoza

Former Boston marathon champion, Rita Jeptoo Busienei won her first ever women marathon title as she made her return to international running, when she took the women’s title at the 17th edition of the Zaragoza Marathon, on Sunday (14) in Zaragoza, Spain.

The 43 year-old who was the oldest athlete in the start list and has won three Marathon Majors under name announced her return to International scene after 10 years absence due to doing ban, with her first win at the Zaragoza Marathon in a time of 2:38.12.

Jeptoo was followed a distant later by Beatrice Martinez Cuello from Spain in 2:55.07 with Ascension Bergues Sanagustin also from Spain wrapping up the podium in 3:07.46.

Esther Fillat Alvarez and Teresa Prieto both from Spain finished in fourth and fifth place in respective time of 3:25.48 and 3:21.30.
