Rebecca Mwangi ready for Sirikwa Classic

Rebecca Njeri Mwangi, the Kenya -Japan based heads to Sirikwa Classic Cross Country championships, a World Athletics Tour Gold level race over the weekend at the Lobo Village in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County.

The 22 year-old having tested her endurance at the 3rd league of Athletics Kenya weekend meeting held at Nyayo National Stadium over the 10,000m, stopped the clock at 34:14.

“I’m quite ready for the upcoming tasks ahead having pushed myself to the limit when I finished second behind 3000m steeple chase world record holder Beatrice chepkoech in 5000m in AK meeting last weekend.” Rebecca said in an interview during her final speed work at Arvist grounds In Nakuru County.

Mwangi will face-off with the Sirikwa Classic defending champion and double world record holder Faith Kipyegon and also the reigning Africa U20 3000m steeplechase champion, Pamela Kosgei among many invited elite athletes.
