Peris Kiprono takes women title in Palermo

Peris Kiprono wins the Palermo Marathon on Sunday 17, 2024 in Palermo, Italy. Race Organisers

Kenya’s Peris Jepkorir Kiprono won the women’s race at the 29th edition of the Palermo International Marathon held on Sunday (17) in Palermo, Italy.

The 36 year-old marathon veteran, led a 1-2 Kenyan podium finish when she took the honors in a time of 2:44.33 with Beatrice Cherono who was making her debut over the distance coming home in second in 2:45.38.

Italy’s Nadine de la Cruz Aguirre completed the podium in 3:00.03.
