Pablo Alba and Beatriz Álvárez Reign at Valencia’s 15K Night Run, Powered by Gana Energía

September 27, 2026

Valencia has returned to running at night. And it did so in spectacular fashion: under a full moon. With 14,000 registered runners, the athletes took to the streets of the city this Saturday to headline the 13th edition of the 15K Nocturna Valencia Gana Energía, one of the marquee events on the Valencia City of Running calendar.

At 10:30 p.m., the participants set off from Avenida del Ingeniero Manuel Soto, in the vicinity of the Port of Valencia, to tackle a fast, completely flat course that carried them through some of the city’s most emblematic spots. Places such as the surroundings of Mestalla Stadium, the Real Bridge, Calle de la Paz, Plaza de la Reina, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, or the City of Arts and Sciences.

The night had its headliners. The clock stopped in the city of Valencia at 23:14 h. to welcome the champion of this edition. The athlete from C.A. Cárnicas Serrano, Pablo Alba, achieved victory in 44:53 after a race that began with a head-to-head duel in the early kilometers alongside Alejandro Sanvalero, from CD Metaesport Riba-roja de Túria.

But by kilometer 5, Pablo Alba had taken the lead, opening the gap kilometer by kilometer, second by second, in a spectacular night with a happy ending: a victory under 45 minutes.

“I found myself alone and when I saw I had some margin I tried to hold it. It was tough, especially around kilometer 10, when I was exhausted, but I thought that there wasn’t much left and, although I suffered, I was able to achieve it,” he commented after crossing the finish line.

Behind him, a duel between Alejandro Pérez (C.A. Fent Camí Mislata) and Alejandro Salvalero, which ultimately ended with Pérez in second place in 46:27 and Sanvalero in third in 46:36.

In the women’s category, the spotlight went to Beatriz Álvarez, from Diputación Valencia C.A., who secured a well-deserved victory in a time of 52:28 after leading solo for much of the race.

“I came to go for last year’s mark. I started at a middle pace that I could sustain, but in the central zones there were many people and I got carried away with so many people. They push you in an incredible way and I managed to win,” Beatriz said after achieving first place.

María Ureña, from C.A. Cárnicas Serrano, who had shared the group in the early kilometers with Beatriz, climbed onto the second step of the podium after finishing in 52 minutes and 40 seconds. Third place went to Carlota Rodés, from Valencia Club de Atletismo, in 54:20.
