Mathew Kibiwott headlines Castellón Marathon

Kenya’s Mathew Sang Kibiwott will lead a strong deep elite team from his country as they head to fight for the top honors at the 14th edition of the Castellón Marathon slated for February 16, 2025 in Castellón de la Plana, Spain.

The 39 year-old comes to this race with life time best of 2:09.20 that he got three years ago at the Generali Maratón Málaga, where he took the bronze.

Kibiwott will partner with his compatriots, the reigning Izmir Marathon champion, Vitalis Kibiwott, the 2016 World U20 5000m bronze medallist, Wesley Ledama and  the 2009 World Cross Country U20 silver medallist, Titus Kipjumba Mbishei.

The four have been assembled by the race organisers to try and attack the race course record of 2:07.25, set last year by Kibrom Weldemicael of Eritrea.
