The MANN-FILTER Zaragoza Marathon 2027 has already opened its registrations. The most populous race in Aragón will celebrate its twentieth edition on Sunday, April 18, with two distances, a marathon and a 10K, and the aim of surpassing all its participation records. After a historic edition, the organizers want to continue growing and have set as a challenge to exceed for the first time the barrier of 3,000 entrants in the 42.195-kilometer race. The forecast is to bring together a total of 11,000 runners by combining the marathon and the homologated 10K that runs in parallel. Registrations are now available through the event’s official website. The first 200 marathon bibs are priced at 40 euros, while the first 1,000 spots for the 10K can be acquired for 15 euros.
A special edition for the twentieth anniversary
The MANN-FILTER Zaragoza Marathon will celebrate two decades of history in 2027. The race has become one of the city’s major sporting events and the participatory event with the highest number of runners in Aragón. The twentieth edition arrives, moreover, in a year especially meaningful for the city, which will serve as European Capital of Sport 2027. The organization intends to take advantage of this circumstance to turn Sunday, 18 April, into a grand celebration of popular sport. The marathon start is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. from Plaza del Pilar. Twenty minutes later, at 8:50 a.m., the 10K will begin on Paseo de Echegaray y Caballero. The two races will share the finish line, located in Plaza del Pilar.
The marathon keeps its route through Zaragoza
The organizers will preserve the routes used in the previous edition. Despite the challenging weather conditions that accompanied that day, the new courses demonstrated their ability to blend speed, monumentality, and participant comfort. The marathon will again begin and finish in Plaza del Pilar. Across its 42.195 kilometers, runners will discover some of Zaragoza’s most representative places. The circuit will run along the banks of the Ebro and will include passages over Puente de Piedra, Puente de Hierro and Puente del Tercer Milenio. It will also pass through Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta and some of the city center’s main arteries, such as Plaza de España, Paseo de la Independencia, and Plaza de Aragón. The proposal seeks to offer an attractive route for those pursuing a time record as well as for runners who want to discover Zaragoza while completing the distance.
A fast, flat and central 10K
The officially certified 10K will similarly maintain the course introduced in the previous edition. It is a completely flat route, with fewer turns and designed to facilitate fast paces, without sacrificing the experience of passing through some of the most recognizable spots in the center of Zaragoza. The start will be located on Paseo de Echegaray y Caballero, between the Basilica of the Pilar and the Ebro river. From there, participants will pass through landmarks such as Puente de Piedra, Puente de Santiago, Paseo de la Independencia, and Plaza de España before reaching the finish line at Plaza del Pilar. This profile makes the 10K a suitable option for runners seeking their personal best as well as for those who prefer a more accessible distance within the marathon atmosphere.
An experience away from the large crowds
