The 5K Madrid today officially announces the opening of the registration period for its upcoming edition, which will be held on April 4, 2027 as part of the prestigious Movistar Madrid Half Marathon. For this occasion, a total of 3,000 bibs have been made available to runners.
Registration will cost 12 € until November 30. In the second window (from December 1 to January 31, 2027) the price will be 15 €, while in the third window (from February 1 to February 28, 2027) it will be 18 €. Finally, and only if there are still spots available, a bib can be purchased at the runners’ fair for 25 €.
The 5K Madrid route will once again set its start and finish on Paseo de Recoletos, next to Plaza de Colón, and it will start at 8:45 a.m., simultaneously with the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon. Throughout the course, participants will be able to enjoy the main streets of the city center, as well as many of its most recognized buildings and emblematic places of the capital.
Thus, after leaving Paseo de Recoletos (near the Wax Museum), runners will ascend Génova to the Alonso Martínez roundabout to connect with Sagasta Street up to the Bilbao roundabout. After passing Carranza Street and San Bernardo Street, access will be gained to Gran Vía, one of the most anticipated moments. Before reaching kilometer 3, a turn onto Montera Street will lead to Puerta del Sol. After passing beneath the iconic Madrid clock, participants will go up Carrera de San Jerónimo to reach Neptuno (km 4) and face the final stretch along Paseo Del Prado, enjoying the Cibeles fountain.
An appealing and tourist-friendly route that each participant can approach in their own way. The 5-kilometer distance offers many athletes the chance to participate in a more recreational manner, while the more competitive can push themselves to the limit in a distance that allows high speeds from start to finish.
Meanwhile, the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon continues to fill its slots for the twenty-sixth edition. Nearly 17,000 runners already have their bib reserved for April 4. The maximum capacity for this distance is 30,000 spots.
