Kenya’s Zablon Ekwam Books Paris Olympics Ticket in Nairobi

Kenya’s Zablon Ekwam qualified for the Paris Olympics 400m race by hitting the qualifying mark at the Kip Keino Classic on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.

Ekwam sprinted to a tine of 44.69 to finish fourth to set his Personal Best (PB) time and beat the 400m qualifying time of 44.00 in the race won by the Africa 4x400m gold medalist Bayapo Ndori of Botswana.

Ndori clocked 44.10 to break the Kip Keino meet record and post a World Leading time in the one lap race.

He 4x400m relays World champion Bryce Deadmon finished in 44.41 as the 2019 African Games gold medalist Leungo Scotch from Botswana completed the las podium finish in 44.54 with both posting their Personal Bests (PB).
