Justus Kiprotich wins Iten Marathon

Justus Kiprotich took the top honors at the hotly contested race at the 3rd edition of the Iten International Marathon held on Sunday (24) in Iten, Elgeyo-Marakwet County.

The 28 year-old took the honors in 2:14.04 and was followed in second by Benjamin Kigen in 2:14.29 with Collins Cheboi sealing the podium three finishes in 2:14.39.

“The race wasn’t easy and the competition was too high, I didn’t know I will win this race but I thank God for the win, said Kiprotich.

Joel Kimutai and Gideon Mutai came home in fourth and fifth place in a time of 2:15.00 and 2:15.07 respectively.
