Jakob Ingebrigtsen eyes for the third European Cross Country title

The Paris Olympic 5000m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen will lead Team Norway for the forthcoming SPAR European Cross Country Championships scheduled to be held on December 8, 2024 in Antalya Turkey.

Ingebrigtsen who is also the Tokyo Olympic1500m champion, missed last year’s event in Brussels due to injury and will be keen to regain the title he won in both 2021 and 2022.

The 24 year-old who is also the double World Athletics Champion will partner with his older brother Filip Ingebrigtsen, who is the 2017 World 1500m bronze medallist and the 2018 winner of this race.

The two will be joined by last year’s bronze medallist Magnus Tuv Myhre and world 1500m bronze medallist Narve Gilje Nordas. 

The women’s race will be led by the three-time senior women’s winner Karoline Bjerkeli Grøvdal who will be eyeing up the prospect of equaling Türkiye’s Yasemin Can’s run of four successive senior women’s titles 2016-2019.
