Jacob Kiplimo survives a harrowing car accident

Double World Athletics Cross Country Champion, Jacob Kiplimo was involved in an accident on Wednesday (3) as his car skidded off the road in Kween district, in Uganda.

The 23 year-old who is also the World Half Marathon record holder escaped unhurt after the car he was driving skidded off the road while driving to his home on Wednesday.

The double Olympic 10,000m bronze medallist was rushed to Medal Hospital for a check-up as he damaged car was towed to the police station.

“I am not sure how much body damage internally this could have caused. But I am grateful to God for shielding me. It could have been worse,” said Kiplimo.

Kiplimo clocked 28:09 at the just concluded World Cross Country this past weekend in Serbia, where he successfully defended his title ahead of Ethiopia’s Berihu Aregawi and Kenya’s Benson Kiplangat

Kiplimo wrote his name into history books after he joined Kenenisa Bekele, Geoffrey Kamworor and Paul Tergat as back-to-back winners of the men’s senior race.
