Kenya’s Isaia KIpkoech Lasoi will headline the 18th edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon slated for February 1, 2025 in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
Lasoi who will be clocking 26 years in October, comes to this race with a life time best of 58:10 that he set last year in September at the Copenhagen Half Marathon, where he won a bronze medal.
The reigning Scania Halve Marathon Zwolle champion will be hoping to emulate recent top three finishers who returned to win the following year. Lasoi who came through for third last year in a time of 58:55 and is nothing if not ambitious. He stated badly afterwards, ‘Eager to run 57 minutes in half marathon in future’.

Lasoi will be hoping to lower the race course record of 57:56, set three years ago by the former world record holder in the half marathon, Jacob Kiplimo from Uganda.
This is the second year that RAK half-marathon will be overseen by Pace Events, long time organiser of the neighboring Dubai Marathon. Race Director Peter Connerton says, ‘We’re looking to build on the success of last year’s event, and continue to bring both fast, exciting elite racing to Ras Al Khaimah, in addition to a well-supported popular race, supported by the community’.
