Africa Games: Evans Kiptum claims bronze in 10,000m race

Kenya’s Evans Kiptum won bronze for the country in the men’s 10,000m race on day two at the Ongoing 13th edition of the All-Africa Games in Accra Ghana.

The 24 year-old lost steam at the bell as he was passed by Bogale Nibret and Diriba Gemechu both from Ethiopia who accelerated at a high a speed that the Kenyan could not respond, as they turned the battle to be between them but Nibret was too strong, finishing first in 29:45.37 with Gemechu taking silver in 29:45.68.

Kiptum who had been dropped to fourth responded back with a lightning speed to claim bronze in 29:47.61.
