Kenya’s Bernard Sang ran away with the men’s marathon title at the 9th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, a World Athletics Gold label race, held on Saturday (10) in Lagos, Nigeria.

Sang who finished in third place at last year’s edition, led a Kenyan podium sweep as he took the honors in a time of 2:16.49 and was followed by Simon Cheprot in second place in 2:16.54 with Geoffrey Birgen sealing the podium three finishes in 2:17.43.

“I am very happy and grateful to have won this race. Last year, I came in third, but this year is different because I won the race,” said Sang.
