Gladys Kiptoo destroys Nanjing Marathon course record

Kenya’s Gladys Jeruto Kiptoo destroyed the race course record at the 9th edition of the Nanjing Marathon slated for Sunday (17) in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.

The 29 year-old who finished third at last month’s Casablanca International Marathon, erased the old course time of 2:39.59 set eight years ago by Hellen Wanjiku Mugo from Kenya with a new course record time and personal best of 2:26.08.

Kiptoo who has participated in three marathons, was followed in second place by China’s Zhixuan Li in 2:26.17 with Ethiopia’s Tigist Tadese Bedada sealing the podium three places in 2:29.42
