Geoffrey Yegon wins Singapore Marathon

Kenya’s Geoffrey Yegon took the top honors at the 40th edition of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon held on Sunday (01) in Singapore.

The 36 year-old won the hotly contested race in a time of 2:16.06 and was followed by Abel Sikowo in second place six seconds later with his compatriot Laban Korir wrapping up the podium in 2:16.24.

In the Women’s category, Ethiopia’s Fantu Zewude took the honors in 2:39.04 and was followed by Agnes Keino from Kenya in 2:39.34 with Ethiopia’s Meseret Dinke sealing the podium in 2:39.41
