Geoffrey Yegon Suspended for doping by AIU

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has provisionally suspended Geoffrey Yegon from Kenya for Presence/Use of a Prohibited Substance (Triamcinolone acetonide), which is a violation of the World Anti-doping Agency.

The 36 year-old was nabbed during last year’s Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon, which was hotly contested but he managed to take the honors in a time of 2:16.06 and was followed by Uganda’s Abel Boniface Sikowo in second place six seconds later with his compatriot Laban Kipngetich Korir wrapping up the podium in 2:16.24.

This suspension means that Sikowo will move to first position and Korir taking the silver with Jackson Kemboi Rutto moving to third place.
