Paris Olympics 5000m finalist Edwin Kurgat will be the man to watch at the 38th edition of the Manchester Road Race slated for November 28, 2024 in Manchester, Connecticut, U.S.
The 28 year-old who a fortnight ago won the Austin Cross Champs, will not have an easy ride as he will face a former Kenyan now trading for United States, Sam Chelanga, who two months ago finished third at The Great Cow Harbor 10K Run and former champion Ben Flanagan from the USA who took the honors in 2021.

The three will also have to get past Andrew Colley, who finished fourth here two years ago with a time of 21:07, and Patrick Dever, an Olympic runner from Great Britain who was fifth at the 2023 MRR in 21:18.
“We are urging everyone who wants to run in the race to come and get a bib,” said Dr. Tris Carta, President of the Manchester Road Race. “By doing so, you’ll have your finish and time officially recorded, and, more importantly, you’ll be helping the wonderful charities and non-profit organizations that our race supports.”
The race organisers have assembled a strong deep elite field to try and chase the race course record of 21:04, set two years ago by Olympian Conner Mantz.
