Dominic Ngeno wins Los Angeles Marathon

Kenya’s Dominic Ngeno took the top honors at the 39th edition of the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday (18) in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

The 26 year-old who was making his debut, lived to his billing that he would win the race as he ran a very tactical race, dropping the lead pack late and cutting the tape first in 2:10.20. Ngeno was followed in second place by his compatriot Cosmas Kiplimo in 2:10.25 with Ethiopia’s Belay Tilahum closing the podium in 2:12.45.

Kenya’s Sammy Kipchumba Rotich and Ethiopia’s Tesfu Tewelde finished in fourth and fifth place in a time of 2:16.31 and 2:20.17 respectively.

Ngeno took home $6,000 as prize money.
