Daniel Munguti leads Kenya as they defend their mixed Relay title in Serbia

Kenya defended their mixed relay title well at the ongoing World Athletics Cross Country Championships on Saturday (30) in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Kenyan team led by the World U20 1500m champion, Reynold Kipkorir Cheruiyot who passed the button to Virginia Nyambura Who held the race steadily as she created a 20m gap with Ethiopian trailing her.

Daniel Munguti who stole the show when he executed the race so well, creating an eleven seconds lead as he passed the button to former World U20 1500m champion, Purity Chepkirui Who took advantage of the Ethiopia’s Birri Abera, after losing her shoe during the exchange, cruising through the scorching sun to cut the tape first and win Kenya her third gold medal in 22:15.

Our East African fierce competitors won silver medal in 22:43 with Great Britain wrapping up the podium three finishes in 23:00.
