Catherine Reline wins Discovery Cross Country

World Road Running half marathon bronze medallist Catherine Reline took the top honors in the Senior Women 8km race at the 33rd edition of the Discovery Cross Country held on Sunday (28) at the Eldoret Sports Club in Eldoret.

The 22 year-old defeated a strong elite field that included the 2019 World 5000m silver medallist, Margaret Jelimo and Tata Steel Kolkata 25K bronze medallits, Betty Jepkemei.

Reline who is also the reigning São Silvestre International 15km Road Race champion, servived the humid weather conditions to cut the tape first in a time a time of 26:31.5 and was followed by Jelimo who is also the World Road Running half marathon silver medallist in 26:47.1 with  Gloriuos Jepkurui wrapping up the podium three finishes in 26:47.1.

Gloriuos Jepkurui and Jepkemei finished in fourth and fifth in a time of 26:51.9 and 27:17.3 respectively.
