Reigning Sydney Marathon champion, Brimin Kipkorir won his second marathon of the year when he claimed the top honors at the 38th edition of the Taipei Marathon held on Sunday (15) in Taipei, Taiwan.

The 38 year-old won the race 2:11.41

“This is my first time coming to Taiwan to compete,” Kipkorir said after the race. “I ran hard at the start, though unfortunately, the back section was difficult, so my speed was a bit slow. It’s a pity that I could not break the course record.”

Kipkorir won Kshs 8,708,991 as prize money.

The race course record of 2:09.18 set two years ago by his compatriot Paul Lonyongata remains standing
