Bernard Langat took the top honors at the Betika Kapsabet 15km Road Race held on Sunday (3) in Kericho County.
Langat was closely followed by Langat Kiprotich in second place with Felix Korir seasling the podium three finishes.
“Participating in the Kapsabet Road Race has been an incredible first-time experience. The support from the community and fellow athletes has been overwhelming, and I’m honored to have finished among the top runners,” said Bernard Langat, the top male runner.
In Women category Judith Jepngetich ran away with title as she showcased her exceptional talent and determination and was followed closely by Janeth Jepkosgei in second place with Joan Jepkosgei wrapping up the podium three finishes.
“Winning the Kapsabet Road Race is a dream come true for me. The dedication and hard work have finally paid off, and I’m thrilled to have represented women in this competition. This victory is not just mine but a testament to the resilience and determination of all female athletes,” Judith Jepngetich, the top female runner.
Betika, renowned for its unwavering support for sports development, recognized the remarkable achievements of the top male and female runners as they were rewarded handsomely each pocketing Kshs 250,000, with second and third place finishers taking Kshs 150,000 and Kshs 100,000 respectively.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Mutua Mutava, Managing Director of Betika, expressed his delight, stating, “The Kapsabet Road Race exemplifies our commitment to fostering talent and promoting healthy competition within our communities. We are proud to witness such remarkable performances and extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants.”
