Benard Biwott wins his first Marathon in Germany

Kenya’s Benard Biwott made his debut more memorable as he surprised many when he ran away with 40thh edition of the Frankfurt Marathon, on Sunday (27) in in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The 22 year-old beat an experienced field as he clinched the title in 2:05.54 and was followed by Ethiopians Gossa Challa and Lencho Tesfaye in second and third in respective time of 2:07.35 and 2:08.02.

The combined winning times of the women’s and men’s champions came to 4:23:19, the fastest aggregate time ever in the history of the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon.
