‘Baby mama’ who sought to stop Kelvin Kiptum’s burial dismissed by High Court

The Eldoret High Court has declined to stop World Marathon record holder, Kelvin Kiptum’s burial, after Edna Awuor Otieno claimed to have sired a child with him sought orders to halt the burial.

The 22 year-old had moved to court to stop the burial of Kiptum until she is recognized with the family as a wife claiming that the deceased was her daughter’s biological father.

The presiding Judge Robert Wananda declined to halt the burial pending the hearing and determination of a case in which she is seeking to be recognized with her daughter as beneficiaries of the marathoners wealth that he has left behind.

The court’s pronouncement now paves way for the 24 year-old to be buried at his home in Naiberi, Uasin Gishu County on Friday 23.

Kiptum, is survived by a wife and two children.

The burial will be attended by the head of state, President William Ruto.
