Athletics Kenya lays down rules for African Games Trials

Athletics Kenya has announced the criteria that will be used to select the National team that will represent Kenya at the forthcoming 13th edition of the African Games slated for 8th to 24th March in the capital city of Accra, Ghana.

This announcement follows the directive from Kenya National Sports Council (KNSC) on slots reduction owing to the budgetary constraints that has forced Athletics Kenya to allocate one athlete per event on selected events.

This event that will be held from March 4th to 5th 2024 at the Nyayo National stadium is an invite only event and each athlete is required to pick his/her own running numbers in PERSON on Monday 4th March 2024 at event venue starting from 9am to 6pm, failure to which will automatically disqualify you.

Selection Criteria

4. Athletes must adhere to all anti-doping requirements by AK, AIU and ADAK.

5. Athlete Must have qualified for African Games Accra 2024 as per the entry standards released by Confederation of African Athletics (CAA).

6. The first athlete across the finish line will be selected.

7. Athletes selected for World Cross country team will not be selected for African Games.
