ASICS GT-2000 15 Women’s Running Shoes – Tested

November 1, 2026

This summer I wore the ASICS GT-2000 15 during a training block with no races on the horizon and without particularly structured workouts. It was weeks of easy runs, some very relaxed, others finishing a touch faster, just to inject a bit of life into the legs and scrub away the grime that builds up when we’ve been running for a while with few demands.

That usage has allowed me to thoroughly gauge the character of this new version. The GT-2000 15 remains a shoe focused on stability, but ASICS has worked to ensure that this support doesn’t compromise the smoothness of the footstrike. There’s more foam, less weight, and a more dynamic geometry—three changes that substantially alter the feel when running in them.

More Foam and a More Refined Midsole

The main novelty lies in the midsole, with the brand adopting FF BLAST MAX foam and adding 2 mm compared to the previous model.

With 37 mm heel height and 29 mm forefoot height, yielding an 8 mm drop, the platform also gains more contact surface, especially at the front of the foot.

The FF BLAST MAX foam offers a soft feel with good compression capacity, yet it maintains enough consistency so that the stride remains precise. It’s a particularly interesting combination in a shoe whose aim is still to deliver control.

In the heel, you also find PureGEL to help soften the impact on landing. In the forefoot, the geometry features a trampoline-like construction with more pronounced flex grooves, designed to favor the transition to takeoff.

In running, that combination translates into a pleasant feel when we’re moving slowly, but it also allows finishing a bit faster without the shoe becoming awkward. No es un modelo pensado para ritmos muy exigentes, pero sí responde bien cuando aumentamos progresivamente la intensidad.

Stability Lies in the Geometry

The 3D GUIDANCE SYSTEM is one of the keys to this GT-2000 15.

Stability does not rely on a rigid piece under the arch. ASICS works with the platform’s geometry, the width of the base, and how the midsole deforms during the stance.

The outer area features grooves that allow for a more progressive compression as the foot lands. The inner portion keeps a more contained structure to provide support. The heel is also wider and more compact, increasing the stable surface from the first contact with the ground. All of this makes the shoe follow the landing without creating a constant feeling of correction.

In my runs, that stability comes across primarily as a sense of security. The foot lands well, the transition is controlled, and the overall sensation remains fairly natural.

An Upper That Combines Ventilation and Containment

The upper has also been redesigned. ASICS employs an Engineered Woven Upper, a technical fabric that adjusts its density depending on the zone. The fit feels comfortable from the first kilometers, and the foot stays well contained without the need for extra reinforcements.

The front is more open to promote ventilation, while the midfoot presents a tighter structure that helps keep the foot secured.

The tongue is thin and light, and the flat laces help distribute pressure evenly over the instep.

A Sole with Two Types of Rubber

ASICS combines different compounds in the outsole: AHARPLUS appears mainly at the heel, a zone particularly exposed to wear; it is a rubber designed to withstand abrasion better; in other areas we find AHAR LO, a lower-density compound that helps reduce weight while maintaining grip and durability.

The rear portion features a fairly continuous construction designed to support stability on landings. In the forefoot, more flex grooves appear, helping the shoe follow the movement more closely during takeoff.

Easy Runs and Slightly Livelier Finishes

After using them for several weeks, I believe the GT-2000 15 finds its best terrain in daily training.

On easy days they provide comfortable cushioning and a stable base: when the legs respond and you feel like finishing a little faster, the shoe maintains a good flow and lets you increase the pace without feeling heavy. This has fit especially well with the type of training I did this summer; with no race on the calendar, I ran more by feel and let each day set the pace.
