Amos Serem strikes silver in 3000m steeplechase in Accra

Former World U20 3000m steeplechase champion Amos Serem won Kenya silver medal at the ongoing 13th All-African Games in Accra, Ghana.

The 21 year-old was beaten to second place by Ethiopia’s Samuel Firewu Debisa who took the honors in 8:24.30 with Serem taking silver in 8:25.77.

Former World U20 3000m bronze medallist, Simon Kiprop closed the podium three finishes in 8:26.19 and taking the bronze medal.

Ethiopians Abraham Sime Tufa and Milkesa Fikadu Jaressa finished in fourth and fifth in respective time of 8:27.30 and 8:27.55.
