Alice Chemtai has vowed to top the podium at this year’s Women U20 category at the second edition of the Great Chepsaita Cross Country Championships scheduled for December 7, 2024 at the Chepsaita Secondary school in Uasin Gishu County.

The 19 year-old is hopeful of a better position after a disappointing outing during the first edition where she finished a distant 30th.

Chemutai who runs under the Kiprun stable, started her season on high and has consistently secured second place finishes in Kapsokwony, Iten, and Bomet.

“I am well-prepared for Chepsaita. My target is victory. I have gained experience in race execution. Last year was my first race, and being inexperienced, I made mistakes that I won’t repeat again this time round, said Chemtai.

Her running mate, Abigael Chemnagei, who finished 34th last year and third in Iten and Kapsokwony, has shown significant improvement this season. The two camp mates will be relying on teamwork as they purpose to secure the attractive prize purse.
