Athletics Kenya president, Lt Gen (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei today paid a visit to Nyayo National Stadium where the fifth edition of the Absa Kip Keino Classic, a World Athletics Continental Tour-Gold will be held on Saturday 21, 2024 in Nairobi.
The AK president made the inspection visit to make sure that all is going on well and that the preparations which are on top gear will be wrapped up in good time.
“Am happy with how things are shaping up and I have been assured by the contractor and my technical team that they are on final touches and work will be done and finished in good time,” said Tuwei.
The president also toured the Call Room, athletes Tunnel, Hummer cage areas and was satisfied with the work done there.
Few areas are remaining and but the main areas of my concern are done and dusted and we are very much ready for the D-day and we urge fans to turn out in huge numbers, Tuwei concluded.
The AK president was accompanied by the Race Meet Director, Barnaba Korir, who also was pleased with work flow and the dedication given from the entire team on the ground.
“The plans and preparations are in top gear and we are hopeful of a great event, ever experienced, with great performances from the top elite athletes. It shall be a day to be remembered,” said Korir who is also the Youth and Development Chairman.
