
Napoli City Half Marathon bronze medallist, Nancy Jepleting secured a bronze medal for Kenya in the Women half marathon on the fifth day of the ongoing All-Africa Games in Accra, Ghana.
The 22 year-old who was the only Kenyan on the start list, was beaten to third place by South Sudan’s Loliha Atalena who took the gold medal in 1:14.36 and was followed in second place by Ethiopia’s Zewditu Gelaw 1:14.40 with Jepleting wrapping up the podium three places in 1:15.07.
Uganda’s Rebecca Cheptegei and Blandina Makatisi of Lesotho finished in fourth and fifth place in respective time of 1:15.20 and 1:15.53.
