The Media Maratón Entre Rías returns after a 2026 edition that broke participation records and strengthened its reach beyond Galicia. Its fourth edition will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2027, with events for the half marathon and the 10 kilometers.
Registration opens on October 15, 2026 at 8:00 PM at www.entreriasmediamaraton.com
The half marathon will start in O Grove at 10:00 AM, heading toward Sanxenxo. Its 21 kilometers will pass through locations such as the island of A Toxa and the A Lanzada beach, on a course certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. The 10-kilometer race will begin at 11:30 AM, offering an option for those who prefer a shorter distance.
The program will begin on Saturday, May 15, at 11:00 AM, with free children’s races
The event will allow participants to combine competition with a stay in the Rías Baixas and enjoy the weekend’s sporting atmosphere.
The balance of the previous edition underscores the growing appeal of Entre Rías as a sports tourism destination. Approximately 35% of participants came from outside Galicia, with runners from various autonomous communities and countries such as Portugal, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The presence of Javier Gómez Noya and Dani Molina was another highlight of the 2026 weekend.
The opening comes with special prices until October 31: 22 euros for the half marathon and 17 euros for the 10K. From November 1, the fees will rise to 25 and 19 euros, respectively. Registering during this initial period will secure a spot at the opening price, provided there are bibs available.
According to the organizers, the previous edition sold out bib numbers weeks before the event. Therefore, they urge those who want to participate in 2027 not to delay their decision and to secure their place in advance. Both distances feature limited bib numbers.
