Vueling to Become Title Sponsor of Barcelona’s Iconic Firefighters Run for the Next Three Years

October 14, 2026

Vueling and the Cursa Bombers Barcelona renew their collaboration agreement for the next three years. The airline will continue as the ‘Title Sponsor’ of the event, which will retain its name as Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona, thereby reinforcing a relationship that links the company with one of the city’s most recognized and largest sporting events.

The renewal consolidates Vueling’s commitment to an event closely tied to Barcelona, which each year brings thousands of runners to its streets.

A date that combines popular sport and competition and has become a standout fixture in the city’s running calendar

The 2026 edition of the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona will also feature a major sporting incentive by hosting the Catalonia Championship for the 10 km on the road. The event advances toward its celebration set for November 8 with a strong response from runners, and it already has more than 11,000 registered participants.

“We are very proud to continue counting on Vueling as the ‘Title Sponsor’ of the Cursa Bombers Barcelona for the next three years. This represents a very special bond with Barcelona and the will to keep growing a race that is part of the city’s sporting calendar. This renewal allows us to continue working together on a consolidated project, but one that still has room to grow and offer every year a better experience to all runners,” said the organizers of the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona.

With this renewal, Vueling and the Cursa Bombers Barcelona extend their collaboration with the aim of continuing to drive one of the city’s major popular-running events and strengthening its bond with the city and its runners

Vueling strengthens its ties with Barcelona

Vueling is Barcelona’s airline and the leading carrier at El Prat Airport, its main hub. Since its inception in 2004, the company has maintained a close link with the city and with Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, from where it connects Barcelona with more than 90 destinations in 30 countries across Europe and North Africa.

The continuity as the ‘Title Sponsor’ of the Vueling Cursa Bombers Barcelona reinforces this link with the city and its commitment to initiatives capable of uniting thousands of people around sport and one of the major popular events on the Barcelona calendar.

“We are very happy to continue lending a name to this sporting event for the next three years and to be part of one of Barcelona’s great milestones, the city where Vueling was born more than 20 years ago. It is particularly exciting to accompany an event that brings together thousands of participants and reflects values we identify with, such as effort, perseverance, and the spirit of community,” said Sandra Hors, Director of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Sustainability at Vueling.
