‘RUB WHERE IT RUBS’, THE NEW GUIDE TO MAKE SURE NOTHING HOLDS YOU BACK
In the world of running, where every kilometer counts and perseverance is key, a small detail can be the difference between crossing the finish line and heading home early. We are not talking about a muscle injury or a lack of energy, but about chafing: that discomfort we have all experienced, and one that we must prevent and care for properly.
Under the motto ‘RUB WHERE IT RUBS’, Anticongestiva Cusí, from STADA, presents a series of visual guides designed for the modern runners to help take care of the skin of runners.
“With ‘RUB WHERE IT RUBS’, at STADA we want to spark a conversation about skin health in sport, placing it on a level of importance with hydration and nutrition as key factors for athletes,” says Elena López, marketing director of STADA Spain.
Dermatological prevention adds to hydration and nutrition as the third pillar of “smart training”
Skin, hydration and nutrition, the three pillars of “smart training”
We often worry about the most cushioned running shoes or the most advanced energy gel, but we forget that the skin is our first line of protection. A chafe not only hurts; it inflames, creates open wounds, and can force a total pause of several days, breaking the rhythm of training.
“We want athletes to stop viewing chafing as an inevitable consequence of physical exercise,” said Elena López. “With this campaign, we aim for skincare to be valued as much as hydration or nutrition. Protected skin helps you enjoy the sport more.”
Science Applied to Comfort: Why Sweat Isn’t Your Best Friend
The appearance of a chafe is the “perfect storm” of three factors: friction, pressure and humidity. Sweat, although necessary to cool the body, softens the outermost layer of the skin after hours of physical exercise, leaving it vulnerable.
The campaign’s new guides help identify critical points according to each discipline (in our case, thigh rubbing, because we are runners, but many also go cycling and suffer from contact with the saddle) and propose the use of protective physical barriers. The tested formula of Anticongestiva Cusí, by STADA, acts as that invisible shield that reduces the impact of continuous rubbing, allowing the skin to withstand even in extreme humidity conditions or long-duration workouts.
Anticongestiva Cusí is a dermatological cream designed to care for and repair the skin when it needs it most. Indicated for the protection and temporary relief of mild irritative skin conditions such as chafing, irritations and superficial erosions, in adults and children, its zinc oxide formula creates a protective barrier that guards the skin against moisture and external aggressors. It should be used only when rubbing already exists and if needed as preventive use. It has soothing and astringent action and helps restore skin comfort.
