Following the great success of its inaugural edition last year, everything was set for the 2nd Elche-Alicante Marathon, which was expected to attract more than 4,000 runners. However, this young marathon has suffered a hard blow due to the General Elections being moved up to November 29. Yesterday the organizers announced that it would not be possible to maintain the date and that the race must be postponed to December 13. Registrants who cannot be in Alicante on the new date have a double option: transfer their bib to the 2027 edition or request a refund of 50% of the amount paid for their registration.

We want to share some important news with you. Following the General Elections being moved up to November 29, the city councils of Elche and Alicante, by mutual agreement, have decided not to hold the marathon on the originally planned date.

We know that many of you already had flights and hotels booked, and we truly understand the inconvenience this change causes. We encourage you to arrange changes to your bookings for the new date as soon as possible; we are at your disposal to help you with whatever you need.
If you ultimately cannot join us in December, we offer two options:
To request a refund of 50% of the registration fee or a credit toward the 2027 edition, the deadline will be November 1, 2026 by replying to this email: inforunners@camontemar.com including your locator document.
Past this date, no refunds or transfers to the 2027 edition will be made.
The weeks of training you have put in are not lost: they are a few more weeks to arrive in your best shape. On our side, we continue to work with the same enthusiasm and dedication so that this second edition becomes a great running celebration and an unforgettable marathon for everyone.
