October 2, 2026

On February 6, the moment arrives to fit chains to your shoes. Snow Running returns to the Sierra Nevada mountains near Granada with two distances: 12.7 km (an accumulated positive elevation gain of 920 m) and 8.2 km (663 meters). To add to the appeal, the start is at sunset and you finish at night. A maximum participation cap of 800 athletes is set for the 2027 edition.

The use of snow micro-crampons approved by the manufacturer for running is mandatory. The micro-crampons allowed for Snow Running must have at least 10 metal spikes of 8/10mm distributed between the toe and the heel. Shoes with integrated crampons are allowed as long as they have at least 10 metal spikes of 8/10mm. Registration costs €42 for licensed athletes, €57 otherwise.

Registration for Snow Running Sierra Nevada sold out in 128 seconds. In December a waiting list will be opened in case there is a possibility of new spots.
