The Cursa Solidària País del Cava will return to the calendar on October 25, 2026, after five years away. Its fifteenth edition will reclaim the road course between Vilafranca del Penedès and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, covering a distance of 13.4 kilometers with the option to participate by running or walking. Organizers expect around 1,000 participants on a day that blends sport and solidarity.
A route between the wine and cava capitals
The start will be given at 10:00 on Rambla Nostra Senyora in Vilafranca del Penedès. From there, participants will travel along the road linking the two towns until reaching the finish line at Pla d’en Mestres in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. The course will allow attendees to enjoy the scenery of the Penedès and will feature refreshment points in La Granada and at Sol i Vi. Runners and walkers will have a maximum of three hours to complete the distance. Additionally, organizers will provide a bus service for transfers between the two towns.
A race to support local families in the region
The return of the race maintains its charitable purpose. According to the organizers, all funds raised will be allocated to the food banks of Vilafranca del Penedès and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, through Associació Ressò Vilafranca and Cáritas Parroquial de Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Both entities work to assist vulnerable individuals and families in the area. Participation in the event will thus help support their activities, in an occasion that preserves its sporting, festive character and openness to different participant profiles.
Registration at 16 euros and return to the calendar
The entry fee is 16 euros and includes a technical T-shirt and a commemorative cup. The revival of the race, whose interruption occurred due to the pandemic, is supported by the municipalities of Vilafranca del Penedès and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia and by the Fundació Pinnae. The Confraria once again entrusts the organization of the event to Esedos Events & Productions —Octagon Esedos—. The event is part of the Catalan Athletics Federation calendar and revives a distinctive proposal: to unite the wine and cava capitals with an accessible route for running or walking and a charitable cause tied to the Penedès.
