The night of Friday, September 25 will once again fill with runners in Alcobendas. The Legua Nocturna will celebrate its 14th edition starting at 9:00 PM with two distances, numerous services included in the registration, and a broad post-race offering. The race, born in 2011, inaugurates this year AORA La Moraleja as the main sponsor and maintains its commitment to combine sport, music, and sociability in one of the best-established events on the municipality’s popular calendar. The Legua Nocturna has become the oldest popular race in Alcobendas among those still held today. Since its inception it has only suffered a two-year interruption due to the pandemic, so the 2026 edition will reinforce the continuity of an event that is already part of the local sports tradition. Its nocturnal character remains one of its defining features. Participants will start at 9:00 PM and will run through the streets of the Arroyo de la Vega area, accompanied by the illumination of their own headlamps. The organization will hand each runner an LED device with batteries, included in the registration, to reinforce both visibility and the identity of a race conceived to be enjoyed after sunset.
Two routes close to 5 and 10 kilometers
The organizers will maintain the format of the latest editions and will allow a choice between two distances. The shorter option will be one league, with a real distance of 4.82 kilometers, while those seeking a greater challenge can complete two leagues, equivalent to 9.64 kilometers in reality. These distances, very close to the traditional 5 and 10 kilometers, open participation to very different profiles. The shorter race is accessible for people who are just starting to run or who want to approach the event from a more recreational perspective. The longer modality, on the other hand, offers an option for participants with more experience or those who wish to push themselves a bit more during the night. Both routes will run through the Arroyo de la Vega area, the usual setting for the competition. The urban course, the nocturnal timing, and the presence of hundreds of lights in motion will give the race a particularly recognizable image.
Camiseta, medalla y dorsal personalizado por 12 euros
The registration fee will be 12 euros and it will include several services and gifts for participants. In addition to the LED headlamp with its batteries, each runner will receive the official T-shirt of this 14th edition and a finisher medal after crossing the finish line. Another feature will be the possibility of obtaining a personalized bib with the name chosen by the participant themselves. In this way, runners can tackle the race with their usual name, a nickname, or any other designation they wish to display along the route. Bib pickup will take place at Decathlon Alcobendas. The shop will also collaborate with the event by including an energy product, such as a gel or a bar, among the services for registered participants.
Paella, cerveza y música para cerrar la noche
The Legua Nocturna will not end when the runners cross the finish line. The organizers have prepared a post-race space to extend the experience and turn the arrival into a meeting point for participants, relatives, and companions. Runners will find water and fruit to begin recovery after the effort. In addition, they will receive a portion of paella thanks to the collaboration with Arrocitos. Ámbar will be present at the closing party with a beer tasting reserved exclusively for adult participants. Music will also play a leading role. A DJ will animate the finish area and accompany the final celebration, reinforcing the festive atmosphere that has characterized this event since its early editions.
