The New York Marathon once again drew a considerable number of Spanish runners to its streets, and in 2026 there were 574 athletes from our country who reached the finish line. Of them, 406 were men, 167 women, and 1 non-binary. In 2024 the Spaniards in the Big Apple were 714 and in 2025 they dropped to 654, so this year the figure has been reduced even further.
The first Spaniards to cross the iconic finish line in Central Park were Javier Marco with a time of 2:32:52 and the international athlete Estefanía Unzu (Verdeliss on her social media), who stopped the clock at 2:49:51.
Additionally, renowned runners joined the competition such as Martín Fiz, who ran his last marathon alongside his son Álex and finished in 3:01:11, or the content creator Sergio Turull (Pitufollow), who completed it in 2:46:46. Below these lines you can see the first Spaniards.
